Fiscal Sponsorship

Here are some resources that we discussed regarding fiscal sponsorship. Below you will find document examples from NYCON's subsidiary Innovative Charitable Initiatives, which provides fiscal sponsorship for many nonprofits and has done so for years. These documents provide a good reference and help manage risk for you and any organization considering acting as a fiscal sponsor.

    I read up more about fiscal sponsorship after the retreat. It took me awhile to get it, but my understanding is that the phrase "fiscal sponsor" only applies to 501(c)3s. Other organizations (i.e. municipalities) acting as a conduit for grant funds could be referred to as a "fiscal agent".
